The Playoff Picture is Still a Little Blurry

The Playoff Picture is Still a Little Blurry

With just one week left in the regular season, two playoff seeds are locked in—Wiffle House at #1 and the Crows at #6.

The rest is still up in the air and the final weekend will decide where they land. Let’s break down the stakes for these four teams as we head into the final weekend of the 2025 regular season.

How Seeding & Tiebreakers Work

Each team plays 18 regular season games, and playoff seeding is determined by record first. If two or more teams are tied in record, head-to-head results decide who gets the higher seed.

If the head-to-head record is tied or doesn’t apply (like in a three-way tie), the next tiebreaker is Adjusted Run Differential (ARD) — the total difference between runs scored and runs allowed across all games, with a cap of +15 per game to keep blowouts from swinging the standings too much.

This final week, that cap plays a big role — especially for teams like the Juice, who can only increase their ARD by 30 max (two wins at +15).

Bilabial Stops (12–4, ARD: +97)

    Last matchup: Swingdome

 If they sweep Swingdome

They finish 14–4 and lock in the #2 seed behind Wiffle House.

 If they split with Swingdome

They finish 13–5 and still secure the #2 seed.
Their record would be better than Swingdome (12–6), and while they are tied head-to-head with the Juice, their ARD is insurmountably higher due to the 15-run cap per game.

If they get swept by Swingdome

     They fall to 12–6.
Swingdome would pass them in both record and head-to-head.
If the Juice also sweep their series, they would finish 13–5 and pass the Stops by record as well.
In this case, the Stops would fall to the #4 seed.
They cannot fall any lower, as the Dreams cannot match or exceed their record, even with a sweep.

Swingdome (11–5, ARD: +72)

    Last matchup: Bilabial Stops

 If they sweep the Stops

They finish 13–5 and claim the #2 seed by record.
The Juice could tie at 13–5 with a sweep, but Swingdome would win the tiebreaker via ARD (assuming the Dome’s margin stays above the Juice’s max ARD of +86).

If they split with the Stops

     They finish 12–6.
If the Juice sweep and finish 13–5, the Dome would fall to the #4 seed.
If the Juice split, the Dome holds the ARD advantage and finishes #3.
If the Juice get swept, the Dome finishes #3 by record.

If they get swept by the Stops

     They finish 11–7.
If the Juice win at least one game, they would pass the Dome in record.
If the Dreams also sweep, finishing 12–6, they would pass the Dome by record, dropping them all the way to the #5 seed.

100% Real Juice (11–5, ARD: +56)

    Last matchup: West Coast Washout

 If they sweep West Coast

     They finish 13–5.
They cannot catch the Stops unless the Stops are swept — in which case, the Juice would have the better record and take the #3 seed.
They can solidify the #3 seed if both Swingdome and the Stops split.
...with an APD of over +18 AND Swingdome sweeps by +2 for the series, they will clinch the #2 seed.

If they split with West Coast

     They finish 12–6.
They would stay #4 unless the Dome gets swept (finishing 11–7), in which case the Juice move to #3.
If the Dome finishes 12–6, they hold the better ARD and stay ahead.
The Dreams cannot pass them due to the 2–0 head-to-head advantage.

If they get swept By West Coast

     They finish 11–7.
If the Dreams sweep, they would finish 12–6 and pass the Juice in record — pushing the Juice down to the #5 seed.
     Otherwise, the Juice stay #4.

American Dreams (10–6, ARD: +17)

    Last matchup: Chicken ‘n’ Wiffles

If they sweep Chicken ‘n’ Wiffles

     They finish 12–6.
They would need the Juice to be swept to move up to the #4 seed.
If both the Juice and Dome are swept, the Dreams could climb all the way to the #3 seed.
They cannot catch the Stops, even with a sweep, due to record.

If they split with Chicken ‘n’ Wiffles

     They finish 11–7.
They would remain locked into the #5 seed, behind the Juice (head-to-head record) and Dome (ARD) regardless of outcomes.

If they get swept by Chicken ‘n’ Wiffles

     They finish 10–8.
Still secure in the #5 seed, ahead of the 6-seed Crows who are out of games.

One week and a whole bracket to shake up. Let’s sit back and watch these heated matchups plant the seeds for what will be another competitive postseason.
